How the Booking Process Works with Stripe Connect
To make renting your spare desk seamless and secure, My Spare Desk integrates with Stripe Connect for payments. Here’s how the booking process works:
Connect Your Account to Stripe: Before you can start listing your desk, you need to connect your account to Stripe Connect. This is a quick setup that can be done from the Dashboard area after you sign up as a host. This ensures all transactions are processed securely.
Receive Booking Offers: When someone is interested in your space, they will send a booking offer specifying when they would like to use your desk. You will receive an email notification with all the details of the offer.
Accept or Decline Offers: After reviewing the booking request, you can choose to either accept or decline the offer. It’s important to respond quickly so the buyer doesn’t have to wait. If you accept, the booking is confirmed, and the payment will be processed through Stripe Connect.
Payment Processing: Once you accept an offer, the payment will be processed, and you will receive the money in your connected bank account within 3-5 days. If you decline the offer, the buyer will be refunded in full, ensuring a smooth and fair transaction for both parties.
Communicate with the Buyer: If you have any questions or need to clarify details, you can use our integrated messaging system. This allows you to communicate directly with the buyer, ask questions, or share additional images of the space.
Exact Location Shared After Acceptance: For the safety and privacy of both parties, the exact location of your desk is only shared with the buyer once you accept the offer. This way, you remain in control over who gets access to your space.
